When building two new schools on a green fields site in
Auckland, Hawkins Construction approached GHD as we could provide
the breadth of skills they needed, from Green Star Accredited
professionals, to engineers and landscape architects – plus many
more.
Situated in Flat Bush, the two schools, with shared library,
administration, gymnasium and performing arts centre, will
eventually cater for over 1,800 students. And a ‘fast-tracked’
timeframe meant the project was not only of a large scale, but also
required completion with swift exactitude. Working closely with ASC
Architects, Hawkins Construction, Ministry of Education and the New
Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC), the tight timeframe
required a strong partnering approach and working as a team. In the
