Al Barari is expected to become one of the most prestigious residential and commercial communities in Dubai, UAE. The development features strong horticultural elements and forms part of Dubailand, one of Dubai’s latest mixed land use developments.

GHD was involved in preparing a master plan and development brief that provided a framework for the planning and development of Al Barari. GHD undertook all infrastructure studies and conceptual designs for the development, including:

  • Proposed land use strategy
  • Demographic and population determination
  • Site infrastructure plans for potable water supply, sewerage, irrigation, fire fighting, storm water drainage, district cooling, electricity, gas, telecommunications and solid waste
  • Land massing
  • Constraints and opportunities assessment
  • Analysis of infrastructure requirements and development of a servicing strategy
  • Development of an integrated land use and infrastructure master plan to provide a long-term planning framework for the development
  • Utilities and services infrastructure concept design
  • Environmental impact review and analysis
  • Transport planning and strategic traffic impact mitigation planning

Following the successful delivery of the integrated infrastructure master plan, GHD was retained as the main infrastructure consultant and lead consultant for the design phase.
