GHD strengthens its commitment to Durham Region with new Whitby office

GHD recently celebrated the relocation of its Whitby office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a new chapter for a team that has served public and private sector clients across Durham Region for nearly 50 years.

The office at 75 Woodrow Court is a full-service location offering all GHD business lines. From transportation and water infrastructure and environmental services to property development and energy projects, the office continues to support clients throughout the region, and beyond. 

The newly constructed LEED Gold-certified office provides a modern and flexible workspace for employees and clients. Designed to support collaboration and innovation, the space includes agile work areas, private enclaves, presentation rooms and boardrooms. Additionally, the new location features electric vehicle charging, bicycle parking and access to nearby public transit. A continued presence in Whitby allows GHD to continue to support the local economy by sourcing office catering and event services from local vendors, with a focus on diverse and inclusive businesses. 

GHD has offices across Ontario and globally, and this year marks 50 years of operating in the province. The firm employs more than 1,300 people across Ontario, including approximately 100 in the Whitby office, with plans to grow in the coming years. The relocation reflects GHD's ongoing investment in Durham Region and strengthens its presence in a community within which many of its staff reside, and where it has delivered successful projects and services for decades. 

Among those offering congratulations at the Sept. 14 ribbon-cutting ceremony were Her Worship Elizabeth Roy, mayor of Whitby; Percy D’Souza attending on behalf of MP Ryan Turnbull (Whitby); and Andrew Scuse, past president of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce and manager at Durham College. While unable to attend in person, MPP Lorne Coe (Whitby) and Durham Regional Chair and CEO John Henry offered their support and encouragement leading up to the event.

In addition to the new office, GHD continues to operate a materials testing laboratory in a newly renovated space on Wentworth Street, supporting project delivery across the region.
