Watercare Remuera: Where collaboration, wellbeing and innovation thrive

Watercare saw the opportunity to transition to a more flexible and collaborative work environment that met the evolving needs of a post-COVID workplace. This involved accommodating remote and hybrid work models, creating spaces that support collaboration and providing quiet areas for focused, screen-based work.

This project involved full management, design, procurement and construction delivery across multiple disciplines, including interior design, fit-out, electrical, mechanical and soft fit-out work. We worked closely with the design, fit-out and client teams, tackling everything from buildability and procurement to cost analysis and scheduling.

The project was broken into stages to minimise disruption for the team, ultimately resulting in a modern, flexible workspace that aligns with the company’s evolving needs.

A key feature of the space is the nerve centre control room, which enables the business to monitor its network from a 180-degree perspective, ensuring quick and effective responses. Additionally, we’re developing a new media and presentation suite with an operable wall, new AV and mechanical systems, and acoustic treatments, creating a versatile space for team briefings and press events.

Throughout the process, we prioritised sustainable flooring, designed adaptable workspaces, and implemented bookable desking with locker storage. We also enhanced kitchen and welfare areas and added more meeting spaces to support the team’s needs.

The result is a space that not only meets the business’s current needs but also sets them up for future growth, all while supporting staff satisfaction and business goals through a flexible, modern office design. This workplace solution helps teams work more efficiently, while also creating an environment that suits their needs, encouraging stronger collaboration and teamwork.
