GHD participates in 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Day events in Atlanta
GHD employees recently participated in several events in Atlanta to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to community engagement and service.
Empowerment Fair – Jan. 12
GHD kicked off the week by participating in the 2026 King Holiday Observance KickOff Empowerment Fair. The booth offered science, technology, engineering and math (STEAM) activities for school-aged children, while staff members shared insights into GHD’s community work and the wide range of STEAM career paths available. Held at The King Center, the event marked the official start of the holiday observance and celebrated a message of inspiration, community and action.
Beloved Community Awards – Jan. 17
GHD was joined by partners Georgia Power, R2T, D. James Consultants, and Oyamacor at the 2026 MLK Jr. Beloved Community Awards, where attendees gathered to recognize individuals and organizations dedicated to building the Beloved Community. The event highlighted the values of service, unity and progress that The King Center continues to champion.
Day of Service – Jan. 19
To conclude the observance, GHD employees volunteered at a King Center Day of Service Project, hosted by the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance. Staff members worked alongside other volunteers, including the Spelman Bonner Program, to remove evasive species to better protect the ecosystem in West Atlanta.
“From the Empowerment Fair to the Day of Service, these moments remind us that progress is a shared effort,” said Garrett Skinner, Atlanta Market Leader, GHD. “We’re excited about our growing relationship with The King Center and grateful to work alongside partners and volunteers who advance unity, opportunity and lasting community impact.”
