Industry insights and collaborative solutions from the PFAS Leadership Exchange

GHD recently hosted the PFAS Leadership Exchange, an event designed to unite industry leaders and technical experts from sectors such as energy, infrastructure, aviation, manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas and waste management. While uncertainty remains, many environmental managers across these industries are committed to progressing PFAS and AFFF strategies with a combination of urgency, caution and pragmatism. As PFAS regulations evolve and public awareness grows, organizations face both challenges and opportunities in managing contamination, supporting compliance and mitigating risk. 

During the event, we conducted a benchmarking survey which provided a valuable snapshot of how different industries are approaching PFAS issues. Participants exchanged insights on regulatory trends, treatment technologies, business impacts and barriers to action. The collaborative environment fostered open dialogue, allowing attendees to learn from each other’s experiences and explore practical solutions to shared challenges. 

By sharing best practices and lessons learned, participants are helping to shape a more informed, resilient and proactive response to PFAS risks. The findings from this survey highlight both the progress made and the hurdles that remain, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration and innovation in this rapidly evolving field.
