Jane Cassidy has been appointed as GHD Design National Practice Leader, strengthening the company’s leadership capability across architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and urban design.

A recognised architect and industry leader, Jane brings more than 30 years of experience across the built environment. She is currently a Director of GHD Design, a GHD Distinguished Technical Leader and Past President of the Australian Institute of Architects. As National Practice Leader, she will guide GHD Design's practice across Australia, drawing on her experience in design leadership, sustainability and industry advocacy at a time of significant change for cities and communities.

Jane’s work spans major projects, industry advocacy and technical leadership, with a particular focus on design excellence and the transition to a lower-carbon built environment. Her appointment comes as clients increasingly seek integrated design solutions that respond to changing community expectations, the transition to lower-carbon places and growing pressures on urban infrastructure.

Dean McIntyre, Executive General Manager - Australia, said Jane’s appointment reflects both her contribution to GHD Design and her standing within the industry.

“Jane has made an outstanding contribution to GHD Design and to the broader profession. She brings deep understanding, a strong industry voice and a genuine commitment to creating places that serve communities for generations. I’m delighted to congratulate Jane on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to the impact of her leadership across Australia.”

Jane said the design industry has an important role to play as cities respond to changing environmental, economic and community priorities.

"The transition to a low-carbon and circular urban future is an opportunity to rethink how we create value.

By designing for the long term and working across disciplines, we can create places that strengthen communities, restore natural systems and leave a positive legacy for future generations.

I'm looking forward to working with our teams across Australia as we continue supporting clients to respond to these challenges and opportunities through thoughtful, integrated design."
