GHD has named May Lin Chew as Chief Legal Officer, joining the company’s Enterprise Leadership Team effective 19 August.

Global professional services company GHD has named May Lin Chew as Chief Legal Officer, joining the company’s Enterprise Leadership Team effective 19 August.

May Lin has extensive expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. With over 25 years of global corporate experience, May Lin has led large, cross-functional and global legal teams advising on large-scale infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and complex transactions.   

Most recently, May Lin served as the General Counsel and Executive Manager of Western Power, a government-owned corporation that operates the electricity network in Western Australia. Prior to Western Power, she was an international corporate lawyer with Shell for 17 years in Singapore, United Kingdom and the Netherlands. May Lin has also worked in Malaysia and Japan.  

May Lin has a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is based in Perth, Australia.
