GHD CEO Jim Giannopoulos highlights focus on client collaboration and long-term relationships
In this video message, GHD’s CEO Jim Giannopoulos reflects on his experience and values, and outlines how the company is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with clients at a time of major geopolitical, economic and climate challenges.
Appointed global CEO in April 2024, Jim previously led GHD’s Americas region, including Canada, USA and Chile over the past four years. Having joined the company as a graduate chemical engineer over 30 years ago, Jim has held various leadership and project roles in Australia, Asia, Canada and the United States.
“At a time of major geopolitical, economic and climate challenges and rapid technological change, it's understandable that we may feel uncertainty when we look towards the future,” Jim says in the video.

Jim is passionate about sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, and strategic growth, partnering and collaborating to deliver positive outcomes for clients, communities, employees and GHD’s employee-owners.
He has multidisciplinary project leadership and delivery experience in water, transport and complex environmental projects. Jim is a Chartered Professional Engineer, Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
