Global professional services company GHD has once again been recognised as one of the country’s most sought after graduate employers in two national rankings in 2022.

In GradConnection’s Top 100 (published in the The Australian Financial Review) GHD ranked #3 in the engineering category, and #21 overall, up from #39 last year. In GradAustralia’s Top 100 (published in the The Australian newspaper) GHD ranked #3 in engineering consulting and #27 overall.

The GradConnection list is based on the engagement time of 68,872 unique users of its website – who are mostly students finishing university degrees. Similarly, the GradAustralia ranking is based on a survey of university students who nominated the organisation that has the most appeal to them as a graduate employer.

The rankings follow one of the largest graduate intakes ever for GHD, with 240 joining the company this year across Australia.

What has been really exciting for our graduates over the last year is the evolution to a globally consistently and integrated program. Developed internally by GHD’s Talent Management team, our globally aligned program has really helped deliver an exceptional employee experience and offered our graduates connections to peers around the world,” says Steven Nield, Graduate Recruitment Lead – Australia.

As part of GHD’s global graduate program, 400 of its 2021 graduates (including 177 from Australia) from more than 50 offices in 10 countries gathered virtually for the annual Global Graduate Forum. This forum aimed to connect graduates to what matters via networking and learning opportunities across borders, disciplines and time zones.

The opportunities to work on diverse projects – small and large – has also proven attractive to potential recruits.

Newcastle local Jessica Carson joined GHD’s graduate program in 2020, and since then has been enjoying the opportunity to work on local projects while also gaining experience on major projects across Australia.

I get to work on projects in Newcastle, which is obviously awesome to be able to contribute locally, but also in other places as part of the northern NSW region, on major projects in Sydney and around the country.
You get the best of both worlds, by making a local contribution as a member of the community, but still having the capacity to experience really big and exciting projects.”
Jessica Carson, Architect at GHD

GHD’s global Graduate Development Program is a two-year structured development program, balanced with a blend of experiential learning, coaching and training that will help graduates develop into future problem solvers and leaders.
