The challenge
DFW Airport needed to replace the aging parking structures at Terminal A with a modern facility built to serve passengers, airlines and tenants for decades to come. Because this was the airport's first design-build services solicitation of its kind, there was no established internal template to follow, meaning the procurement package itself had to be developed largely from scratch while still meeting the airport's technical, regulatory and operational standards.
Our response
We provided procurement support services to DFW Airport's Development and Engineering Department. We helped create and develop the request for qualifications solicitation package for the proposed $180 million Terminal A Enhanced Parking Structure project, DFW's first design-build services solicitation of its kind.
The impact
Our procurement support helped set the proposed Terminal A Enhanced Parking Structure project in motion: a new multi-level, 9,000-space parking garage designed to replace the existing Terminal A structures with a facility built for more than 50 years of useful life. Beyond added capacity, the project is designed to improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, passenger movement, vehicular circulation and aesthetic appearance for DFW Airport, its airlines, tenants and passengers.
