At a glance

We supported the Security and Estate Group and the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in enabling Army’s littoral manoeuvre capability between June 2025 and March 2026. The program focused on delivering the infrastructure and facilities required to support a maritime mobility capability, enabling Army to operate more effectively across coastal and regional environments. By aligning operational needs, international partner inputs and Defence delivery frameworks, we helped create a coordinated pathway from capability definition to delivery.

The challenge

LAND 8710 required the delivery of a new Army littoral manoeuvre capability while requirements, delivery scope and infrastructure solutions were evolving in parallel. This demanded continuous alignment across Defence, industry and international stakeholders.

The program needed to integrate foreign force requirements, security constraints and operational needs into Australian program and infrastructure frameworks while maintaining alignment across multiple design packages, approvals and delivery timelines.

The challenge was further complicated by the need to coordinate a large, multi‑party program environment, aligning technical design, stakeholder inputs and critical path dependencies within a single, integrated delivery model. Success depended on translating evolving operational and capability requirements into clear, deliverable outcomes while maintaining alignment across stakeholders, infrastructure planning and program delivery.

Our response

We provided an integrated program and capability management solution that translated evolving operational requirements into coordinated, deliverable outcomes. We established and maintained a Master Integrated Schedule to manage interfaces, logistics, dependencies and critical path across technical design, infrastructure, approvals and stakeholder inputs within a complex multi‑party environment.

We led structured requirements integration, bringing together operational, infrastructure, security and stakeholder inputs into a coherent and traceable program baseline. Supported by multidisciplinary teams spanning systems engineering, program management and infrastructure delivery, we maintained alignment between requirements, design, delivery and verification activities.

In parallel, we delivered program governance, reporting and stakeholder coordination across distributed teams, providing visibility of risks, decisions and performance. Collectively, this created an integrated delivery framework that helped to manage complexity, maintain alignment and progress capability outcomes with greater certainty.

The impact

The program successfully aligned evolving capability requirements with program delivery, providing a coherent and traceable pathway from operational needs to infrastructure and implementation outcomes. The Master Integrated Schedule improved visibility and control of dependencies, risks and critical path activities, supporting more confident decision‑making across stakeholders.

The approach strengthened coordination across Defence, industry and international partners, helping embed foreign force requirements into Australian delivery frameworks. Early visibility of dependencies, risks and delivery pathways improved decision-making and reduced integration risk across the program.

By bringing together multidisciplinary expertise across planning, infrastructure and program delivery, we helped position Defence to deliver Army's future coastal and maritime capability with greater certainty.
