The EDC Burgos Wind Power Corporation engaged GHD to advise on the environmental and social impact of a wind farm project.

Our response

GHD prepared an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study for the 165 MW wind farm located in a 618 ha project development block that is situated in a site declared as a cultural resource (Palpalokada Landscape) and reserved as an area for tourist development.

The team assessed in detail the biodiversity, hydrogeological, noise and air quality, heritage and cultural resources, land and visual, and socio economics and public health conditions of the project site.

Environmental and social mitigation measures were identified to address any recognized impacts as a result of the project's construction and operation. In the course of the study, via a risk assessment workshop, an Environmental and Social Management Plan was also developed in accordance with local and international regulations for implementation throughout the project's lifecycle.
