GHD names Chris Hunter as Americas CEO
Global professional services company GHD has announced the appointment of Chris Hunter as Americas Chief Executive Officer. Following a 25-year career at GHD, he was most recently responsible for the company’s operation in Canada as Executive General Manager since 2021. He succeeds Jim Giannopoulos, who was appointed GHD global CEO on April 2, 2024.
Having joined GHD as a graduate engineer, Chris brings a combination of first-hand engineering experience with strategic leadership. In his new role, he will lead GHD’s operations in Canada, USA and Chile, leading a team of over 4,500 professionals.

Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from McMaster University in Canada and has completed training in leadership from Harvard Business School and Melbourne Business School. Most recently, he completed training with the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
