The challenge
The vision of the Auckland Regional Council for the East Stand was to create a truly immersive and engaging experience for fans. With a keen eye for detail, it recognised the importance of bringing fans closer to the action and improving sight lines, to foster a sense of community and create an unforgettable atmosphere for sporting events.
Our response
Our commitment to innovation and optimisation resulted in a stadium that not only met but exceeded expectations in terms of its performance and capabilities. The redevelopment of the East Stand includes a large networking lounge and private suites, providing additional opportunities for revenue generation and multi-purpose use. The space under the stand was utilised to create a range of facilities for the stadium’s tenants, including office space, a gym for team training and additional function areas, all with the flexibility to adapt to future requirements.
Our work on the stadium caught the attention of the Auckland Regional Council, which engaged us to provide a concept design for the Rugby World Cup venue proposal. Our concept design included an increase in capacity to accommodate an additional 43,000 spectators, along with an expanded food and beverage area and corporate hospitality facilities. We were thrilled to contribute to this exciting project, and our vision for the stadium continues to inspire fans and visitors alike.
