Lucy Hovanec to lead GHD’s operations in Canberra, Southern NSW and PNG
Global professional services company GHD has appointed Lucy Hovanec as Regional General Manager for ACT and Southern NSW.
In her new role, Lucy will lead more than 200 people in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Bega, Nowra and Wollongong, as well as GHD’s operations in Papua New Guinea.
With a consulting career spanning more than 20 years, Lucy joined GHD in 2017 to lead the growth of its International Development Assistance team. Since then, she has held a series of leadership roles, most recently heading Delivery Phase Services, an Australia-wide team providing procurement, construction and project management services for hydrogen, renewable energy, asset closure and mining clients, supporting them to make the energy transition.
Lucy succeeds May Ngui who is retiring after a 38-year career in engineering, including 32 years of outstanding service at GHD.
Some of the projects supported by GHD include:
- Molonglo Bridge design services for the ACT Government's Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS)
- The Delivery of the Water for Women project across Asia Pacific and the Transport Sector Support program (TSSPIIa) in Papua New Guinea for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
- The concept design and environmental approvals for the upgrade of Picton Road through the Wilton growth area for Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW)
- Completion of the Burley Griffin Way, Limestone Way Intersection upgrade at Galong (NSW) for Graymont.
