Global professional services company GHD is proud to announce its partnership with the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) as Circular Economy Supporting Partner and Green Building Day Supporting Partner for 2023.

Established in 2002, the GBCA is a not-for-profit organisation established to develop a sustainable property industry and drive the adoption of green building practices. GBCA, of which GHD is a founding member, rates the sustainability of buildings, fit outs and communities through the Green Star rating system, runs education programs for industry, and advocates for policies and programs that support a sustainable built environment.

The partnership aligns with GHD’s collective commitment to collaborate with clients and communities to address increasingly complex social, cultural environmental, and economic challenges.

Ian Dixon, GHD Technical Director – Sustainability and National Lead – Building and Property Sustainability said, “The vision of our business is water, energy and urbanisation made sustainable for generations to come. This partnership reinforces GHD’s commitment to actively contributing to sustainable outcomes.

“We’re excited to collaborate with GBCA as Circular Economy Supporting Partner and Green Building Day Supporting Partner to recognise and celebrate the importance of embedding sustainable practices into the work we deliver for our clients in the communities where we live and work.”

As Circular Economy (CE) Partner, GHD will provide advisory support and work in conjunction with the GBCA’s Market Transformation team to support their circular economy initiatives, including assisting developing solutions to overcoming some of the practical challenges of applying CE to the built environment.

Huia Adkins, GHD’s National Circular Economy Lead said, “This partnership gives GHD a unique opportunity to leverage our deep, in-house CE capability for the wider benefit of industry and help unlock the potential for CE to positively transform the built environment.”

As Green Building Day Supporting Partner, industry specialists from GHD will be presenting case studies at GBCA’s Green Building Day, an annual event that celebrates all things Green Star and explores and shares knowledge on the real-life application of Green Star within the built environment, held in Brisbane and Melbourne in May and Sydney (virtually) and Perth in June.
