Paul Murphy has been named CIO at GHD, one of the world’s leading professional services companies, joining the company’s enterprise leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO.

Paul Murphy has been named CIO at GHD, one of the world’s leading professional services companies, joining the company’s enterprise leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO.

In this role, Paul will be focused on realising GHD’s transformation agenda, including a major cloud initiative – moving GHD’s infrastructure, applications and data into Microsoft's Azure platform. Two on-premises data centres have already been migrated to the cloud.

“We have committed to significantly transform our IT capability to maximise the potential of global hybrid working for our people and improve the services we deliver to our clients,” Paul says. “Our vision is to be able to deploy technologies in a faster, highly secure, scalable, and nimble way to meet our clients’ and our markets’ rapidly evolving challenges.”

Based in Brisbane, Paul was previously GHD’s Chief Technology Officer, with executive responsibility for core vendor relationships, infrastructure, technical applications and compute environments. Over many years he has been intimately involved in the development of GHD’s BIM and digital engineering capabilities. Paul also has extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers and planners on building and infrastructure projects in Australia, the US, New Zealand, Canada, Papua New Guinea, UAE and Qatar.

Paul succeeds Elizabeth Harper who is retiring in October.
