Jane Cassidy named Leader in Professional Services by Australian Financial Review
Jane Cassidy has been named one of five Leaders in Professional Services in the Australian Financial Review Women in Leadership Awards, recognising her leadership and influence across architecture and the built environment sector.
The awards celebrate women who are driving meaningful change across Australian industries. Jane’s shortlisting reflects her influence in advancing how design responds to climate, community and long-term value.
As Service Line Leader for Architecture & Design for GHD and a Director of GHD Design, Jane has built a career spanning more than three decades, leading complex projects across Australia and the Pacific. She leads teams to deliver outcomes that balance technical performance with environmental, social and economic value, shaping infrastructure and places that support resilient communities. Jane is the first female and one of only four GHD Distinguished Technical Leaders.
Jane’s influence extends beyond GHD. As a Past National President of the Australian Institute of Architects, she has helped guide the profession through significant change, including advancing climate action.
Jane Cassidy said, "This recognition reflects the many people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside, and the collective effort to move our industry forward. Architecture is changing, and with that comes an opportunity to create space for more diverse perspectives and pathways into leadership. I hope this helps show what’s possible for women building their careers in this profession."
Jane’s shortlisting comes at a time of significant change for the built environment, with growing focus on decarbonisation, digital transformation and new models of collaboration across disciplines.
