Icon Water has recently appointed the Beca HunterH2O-GHD Joint Venture as its preferred engineering services provider to support a generational upgrade of the Australian Capital Territory's water infrastructure.

Icon Water has selected the 50/50 Joint Venture partnership between engineering consultancies Beca HunterH2O and GHD to support strategic planning and conceptual design, and to integrate with Icon Water's other partners to deliver its $1 billion capital works program over the next 10 years.

GHD Regional General Manager - ACT, Lucy Hovanec, said the 10-year appointment presented an exciting opportunity to increase water resiliency in the region. "We are absolutely thrilled to be working so closely with our local partner, Icon Water. We are proud to extend this strong connection and our significant footprint in the ACT region, while at the same time drawing upon the depth and extensive experience across our excellent local specialists and global network for the benefit of this program which is so important to our city and surrounds.

Icon Water's stated purpose – to sustain and enhance quality of life – aligns closely with GHD's purpose of creating lasting community benefit together with our clients, and we are excited to help deliver this over the life of the program."
