GHD recognised for excellence in energy transition at WESCA 2024

GHD is delighted to announce that it has been recognised with the Energy Transition Award at the 2024 World Energy Supply Chain Awards (WESCA) in Dubai. Presented by the Energy Industries Council (EIC), the awards celebrate companies demonstrating resilience, innovation, and leadership in the energy supply chain across the Middle East, Africa, and CIS regions.

The award acknowledges GHD’s commitment to sustainable energy and its significant role in helping businesses and communities navigate the complexities of the energy transition. GHD’s leadership in developing decarbonisation strategies and advancing renewable energy projects has positioned the company at the forefront of the sector’s transformation, aligning with the global shift towards clean energy solutions.

The EMEA region has been instrumental in GHD’s growth over the past few years. After the launch of its “Make it Real” campaign in 2020, GHD has achieved record revenues of $1.5 billion in the 2024 financial year. This achievement reflects the company’s expertise across the energy transition, business resilience and sustainability, as it partners with clients to address critical energy challenges.

Specifically contributing to the energy sector in the UAE, GHD worked alongside the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to deliver its National Hydrogen Strategy – a comprehensive framework to increase the growth of its hydrogen economy and reduce emissions, ultimately supporting its vision to become a leading low-carbon hydrogen producer by 2031.
