GHD expands naval infrastructure capabilities with $110 million in US Navy contract awards
GHD, a leading global professional services company, has secured three significant contracts with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), with a combined value of $110 million. These contract awards strengthen GHD's position as a prime contractor for the US Department of Defense and demonstrate the company's growing presence in the federal sector.
NAVFAC Southwest Waterfront Engineering Contract
The GHD-COWI Joint Venture has been awarded a $50 million contract from NAVFAC Southwest for waterfront engineering services. This five-year, firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity architect-engineering contract will enable GHD to provide comprehensive design support for naval facilities across six states in the Southwest region: California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.
NAVFAC Pacific Multi-Discipline Contract
GHD has been awarded a $40 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for multi-discipline architectural-engineering projects within the NAVFAC Pacific area of responsibility. Work under this contract will be performed at various locations, including the Philippines, Australia, Micronesia and Singapore.
NAVFAC Southwest Civil Engineering Contract
The GHD-KAULA AE Joint Venture has secured a $20 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for civil engineering services at various Navy and Marine Corps facilities within the NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility. The scope includes design services for wet utility systems, airfield pavement, roads and paving, bridges, entry gates/control points, outdoor recreational fields, shooting ranges, erosion control, stormwater management and low-impact development design.
Strategic Growth in Pacific Region
These contract wins align with GHD's vision for growing as a prime federal contractor providing exceptional architecture, engineering and environmental services.
The acquisition of RIM Architects in 2024 has accelerated GHD's transformation from an engineering-focused firm to a true architecture-engineering company in the US market.
"These contracts represent a significant milestone for GHD's federal business and highlight our continued growth in the defense sector," said Chris Hunter, GHD Chief Executive Officer for the Americas. "We look forward to leveraging our specialized expertise to modernize and strengthen critical naval infrastructure throughout the Pacific region."
